THE DAY OF YOUR SURGERY

What happens immediately a�er the surgery

is completed?
· A�er your surgery you will either be transferred to the Post Anesthesia Care
Unit (PACU) near the operating room . Visitor access is restricted in the PACU.
Family and friends should remain in the waiting area while you are in the PACU.
· Hospital sta� will keep your designated contact person informed as to where
you will be going a�er your surgery.
. �ey will also provide discharge information and instructions if you are
scheduled to go home on the day of surgery.
